FAQ

  • WHICH LANGUAGE PAIRS ARE AVAILABLE?

The main translation/interpretation languages we work with are listed here. If you cannot find the language pair that you need, please contact us directly, as the range of the languages we operate is constantly expanding.

  • DO YOU PROVIDE URGENT TRANSLATION SERVICES? ARE URGENT TRANSLATIONS MORE EXPENSIVE?

Usually, we try to avoid an increase in price when it comes to urgent translations. However, in certain cases, especially where quite a considerable amount of work has to be done ‘overnight’, we negotiate prices with customers separately.

Quite often, clients make the mistake of assuming that a single evening will be sufficient time for a translator to translate a 30-page report, which the client has been creating for a month, and which had to be submitted ‘yesterday’. In many cases, such a translation is a physically impossible workload for one translator, while distributing it among several translators affects the quality of the translation, as the time limit is very short. In one evening, translators would not have enough time to read through and translate the entire text of the document, cross-reference any content, and make final corrections. Furthermore, there would be no time for an editor to review the translation. What if, the following morning, the client had received back the translation ‘stitched together’ from the different sections of text translated by individual translators overnight? It would surely be unfortunate and frustrating for a report that has been carefully prepared by a client in one language, to become a third rate and rushed translation in another language.

We understand that different situations occur in the business world, and many things need to be done ‘here and now’. Therefore, we are ready to help our clients and will do our best to fulfill a client’s request within an agreed specified period, even if it might appear to be impossible.

  • HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED TO TRANSLATE A TEXT?

The time required for the translation of a text depends on the volume, complexity, language pair, and format of the text. Translations of documents that do not contain long texts (certificates, diplomas, identity documents, attestations, etc.) are usually undertaken on the same or next business day. Our translators are experienced professionals who are able to translate at least 2,000 words (or about 12,000 characters (no spaces) per day.

An urgent large project can be carried out by several translators, however, the quality may be affected, as the style of each translator is unique, and different terms might be used. Therefore, the unification of the text is necessary, and it also takes time. We always try to offer an optimal translation deadline that is both acceptable to the client and enables us to provide a high quality translation service.

  • HOW DO YOU ENSURE TRANSLATION QUALITY?

Translations have different complexity levels and their cost varies. If the text is for informational purposes only, the translation can usually be created without distorting the original meaning and style, and with the avoidance of grammatical errors. If an error is found in such a text that does not affect its essence and meaning, it is considered a minor error and that the translation has been undertaken correctly. However, if a text is meant for publishing, a specialist whose mother tongue is the language into which the text is being translated must edit it.

Quite often, consulting with a specialist in the relevant field is necessary. This inevitably results in an increase in the cost of translation, as the text has to be handled by at least three people. If you are looking for the best result possible, text editing is essential to ensure the high quality of the translation, as the translator is usually only a specialist in a particular language. Although he / she has an advanced knowledge of a foreign language, only a person to whom that language is the mother tongue can perceive the nuances of the text and edit it so that it sounds as natural as an original text.

Customer collaboration is also very important. Any translation related materials such as links, glossaries, and recommendations, will help ensure the proper quality of the translation and avoid possible misunderstandings.

  • WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE TRANSLATORS?

Texts are translated by professional translators who have an excellent knowledge of the relevant foreign language, terminology, and specifics of certain subjects. Many believe that to be able to communicate in a foreign language is sufficient to become a translator. Unfortunately, this is not true. Based on test translations, we select no more than 20% of those who apply to work with us. It takes years to become a good translator.

Very often, a good language specialist fails to become a good translator, as this job requires appropriate education, certain abilities, and the personal qualities such as diligence, responsibility, and most importantly, knowledge of how and where to find information that might be needed for the translation.

  • IN WHAT FORMAT WILL THE TRANSLATION BE SUBMITTED?

If you provide a Word text for translation, the layout of the translated text will be returned as a Word file and usually in the same layout and style. Where a document is submitted in another format, it may not be possible to produce an identical layout of the translation because our translators are not necessarily graphic designers. We can provide layout services for a separately agreed price.

  • HOW MUCH DOES A TEXT TRANSLATION COST?

The cost of a text translation is calculated according to the number of text characters. One standard page consists of 1500 characters without spaces. The translation cost can be determined most accurately if the text is submitted in Word format. Then, all you have to do is send us your text and we will provide an estimate. Where the text is in a different format, to determine the exact cost is more difficult, but to estimate a preliminary cost is not a problem.

  • IS IT NECESSARY TO COME TO THE TRANSLATION AGENCY IN PERSON?

You can come to the agency in person but it is not necessary. Thanks to modern technology, you can place text translation orders with us and receive translated texts without leaving your home or office by email.

  • WHAT IS APOSTILLE AND THE APOSTILLE SERVICE FOR DOCUMENT LEGALISATION?

The Apostille service is the legalisation of a document where the authenticity of the signature and stamps on the document and the position held by the signatory of the document are verified. An Apostille can certify both an original document and a notarised copy of the original.

  • WHAT IS CERTIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS AND WHO NEEDS IT?

To certify a translation means to certify that the translation has been provided by a translation agency and that the translator is aware of the legal responsibility for an inaccurate translation. Translations are certified by the seals of the translation agency and the signatures of the translators or by notarising them.

  • WHAT ARE TEXT TRANSLATION PRICES?

The cost of text translation is determined by calculating the number of standard pages in the text to be translated. The translation cost can be determined most accurately if the text is in Word format. Where the text is in a different format, to determine the exact cost is more difficult, but to estimate a preliminary cost is always possible.

  • DO YOU PROVIDE TEXT EDITING SERVICES?

Yes. We provide editing and proofreading services for texts, books, documents, and translations. The cost of editing and proofreading is usually determined by calculating the number of standard pages in the text to be edited or proofread.
